At Homewood Training, we’ve always believed that our people are at the heart of everything we do. This year, we are delighted to announce that we have become an Accredited Living Wage Employer—joining a growing movement of over 16,000 organisations across the UK who voluntarily commit to paying their teams the real Living Wage, far beyond legal minimums.
What Does “Living Wage” Really Mean?
Unlike the government’s minimum wage, the real Living Wage is calculated based on the actual cost of living in the UK. The Living Wage Foundation works with experts to update this rate annually so that it reflects what people need to live with dignity and security in today’s society. Choosing to pay the real Living Wage means ensuring that every member of our staff, whether permanent or contracted, is truly valued—not just in words but in their pay packet.
Why We Joined the Movement
As an employer, we understand that fair pay is about more than meeting regulations—it’s about investing in people’s wellbeing, their families, and their futures. When colleagues can afford life’s basics because they’re paid fairly, they are happier, healthier, and more motivated at work. Being accredited means Homewood Training practices what we preach: supporting not just our staff, but our wider community.

The Benefits Go Both Ways
Better Engagement: Employees earning a real Living Wage feel respected and valued, which translates into commitment, loyalty, and enhanced morale.
Business Success: Fair pay isn’t just the right thing socially—it’s good for business. Studies show Living Wage employers enjoy improved productivity and lower staff turnover.
Setting an Example: By joining the Living Wage movement, we’re helping raise employment standards sector-wide, and encouraging others to follow suit.
Moving Forward
Committing to the real Living Wage is a pledge: to our staff, to our clients, and to our community. We want Homewood Training to be a place where dignity is never optional, and fair pay is the foundation of everything we do.
We invite our peers, partners, and clients to learn more about what it means to become a Living Wage employer and to consider joining this movement for positive change. For further details, explore the Living Wage Foundation’s website.
